NOTE: This part of a series. Please visit the other parts to see all of the fun things we did in Myanmar and Singapore: PART 1 PART 2 PART 3
For the second leg of our trip, we visited Singapore! This was not purely for fun even though Singapore is one of the most fun places on Earth!
Some of the goals to visit Singapore were:
- To see what a society that started out with similar conditions & heritage to present day Myanmar can do in the span of a about one 50 years. The answer: a lot!
- Visit amazing zoos and gardens! Singapore has some of the most amazing gardens and zoos in the world!
- Shopping!! We stayed right on Orchard Street - the shopping district in Singapore! This area is filled with shops, malls, and zillions of places to eat!
Singapore Zoo, River Safari, and Night Safari
We visited 3 of the 4 zoos in Singapore in one day! It's super easy because they are all right next to each other! We started the day with breakfast with the orangutans and other animals at Singapore Zoo, then spent the afternoon at the River Safari, and finally visiting the Night Zoo - a Singapore original!
Art Science Museum and Marina Bay Sands
The Art Science Museum is home to one of our most favorite modern art groups known as teamLab from Japan. We visited teamLab's HQ and got to tour their lab where they work on their large scale art exhibits! This area is also know for their outdoor boardwalk and water and light show that happens at night!
Gardens by the Bay
Visiting Gardens by the Bay is like landing on an alien planet with really cool solar powered "trees" that light up at night!
Inside the gardens, we visited the Cloud Forest and Flower Dome, two giant enclosed domes that house the tallest indoor waterfall in the world and thousands of plant species!

Singapore Airport and Yotel Orchard Road
The Singapore Airport is quite pretty with gardens and lots to do but we made our way to the Yotel Orchard Road to meet our robot buddies who help to deliver items to the hotel guests!
Shopping and Eating!
Of course shopping and eating are two of our favorite activities! We visited Orchard Road, Bugis Street, as well as several Hawker Centers where the locals eat the best food!
National Botanic Garden
The National Botanic Garden is a massive park filled with thousands of species of flora and fauna, meticulously groomed and kept. We loved being surrounded by nature's beauty and enjoying the perfect park!
Jurong Bird Park
A zoo dedicated to birds? Count us in! Jurong bird park is dedicated to education and helping to maintain the population of various birds from around the world. It's such a fun place with lots to do and see!
