Thursdays 3:45pm - 7:30pm
Fridays 2pm - 3:55pm
You can arrive any time you'd like but please budget at least 2 hours per meeting to be productive. One tuition fee covers up to two meetings to get your entry done!
Requirements:
Competition team is only open to current Hongyun Art students in Green Cloud or higher
Students must either be coming for one of our upcoming competitions or bring PRINTED or a digital copy of the rules and information for a competition they'd like to enter. There must be at least 2 weeks left before the deadline.
Students must arrive for their first meeting with a a MINIMUM of 2 drafts per competition they'd like to enter. Teachers are allowed to help with art quality but art strictly prohibited from helping students figure out the content of their entries. Students should focus on no more than 1 competition entries at a time.

Congratulations to Ms. Eva, who received the Cupertino Distinguished Artist Award, Platinum from the Cupertino Arts and Culture Committee for 2024!
The painting, “You Are Here” is a response to the theme, Building Sustainable Communities. The work can be seen in the first floor of the Cupertino Library for a year alongside the other recipients of the Cupertino Artist Award for 2024, including many of our Hongyun Art students.
Congratulations to Eira L. (Age 13, Orange Cloud) for having her work, “The Thoughts That Crawl In My Head” selected for a Gold Key award in the 2025 Scholastic and Writing Awards. Her work won a Gold Award amongst the regional selection and is now being judged at a national level.
We’re very proud of the amazing progress you’ve made over the years, both technically and in regards to expressing your original thoughts — your award is well merited! Great job Eira and keep up the awesome work!!
Congratulations to our very own Mr. Jason, one of the teachers at Hongyun Art for achieving the Silver Award level winner for the Cupertino Distinguished Artist Award for 2024. The theme for this year was “Building Sustainable Communities.” Mr. Jason’s work will be displayed in the Cupertino Library for one year as part of the Artist Award Display. Go Mr. Jason!

Congratulations to Jessica K. (Age 17, Red Cloud) for being selected as the Platinum Award winner by the Cupertino Arts and Culture Commission! She worked to develop a portfolio over the past few years as part of her submission for the theme “Building Sustainable Communities.” Her work will be displayed at the Cupertino Library as part of the Cupertino Artist Award display for a full year between 2024 - 2025. In addition to an award, she received a cash prize as part of the competition! Congratulations on your hard work for all these years!! Go JKwon!!

Congratulations to Mikayla F. (age 11, Yellow Cloud) and GEI team member for winning first place in the grades 6-8 category for the 2023 Watershed Watch Earth Day Poster Challenge! Mikayla’s work shares her creative vision for how we can help reduce water pollution in Santa Clara. Great job!
Congratulations to Victoria H., (age 13, Red Cloud) who won a notable submission award for her work, Transformation, in the Bow Seat Ocean Awareness Contest in 2023! Her work stood out from more than 4000 entries worldwide! Her work celebrates Boyan Slat, The Ocean Cleanup. We are incredibly proud and excited to support Victoria’s creative work that can help build a sustainable future!
Congratulations to our Red cloud student, Yishan L. for winning the Platinum award (1st place, with an award of $150 dollars!) Woohoo!! in the Cupertino Young Artist Award 2023! His work was celebrated at the Cupertino Artist Awards ceremony, and currently his work is on display in the Cupertino Library for a year from 2024 - 2025. Great work to Yishan!
